The Legion of Mary was founded in Dublin, Ireland, on 7 September 1921, by Frank Duff. It is a lay Catholic organisation whose members give service to the Church on a voluntary basis in almost every country. The objective of the Legion of Mary is to glorify God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work.
Our Praesidium is called Queen of Martyrs and it started from 18th July 1977. Currently there are 11 active members.
1. Spiritual bouquets: praying for the dead, the sick, people who need special intentions and for world peace, etc.
2. Visitations: visit the sick in hospitals, old age homes and individual homes.
3. Contact works: bringing more members to the legion, helping in the RCIA, choir and other events.
To glorify God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work.
