Block Rosary

About Us

The members arrange to have Mother Mary’s statue to be transferred to parishioners’ homes on a weekly basis throughout the year with short breaks during Chinese New Year, Holy Week, Triduum and Christmas. Families are encouraged to have daily family rosary prayers for the week.

Mother Mary’s statue is in their homes and members are present on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8.15 pm to pray the rosary with the family members. After the rosary prayers, we have fellowship with the family as it is a good way to build up our Church community.

Regular group meetings are held on a quarterly basis followed by fellowship among members.

What is the Block Rosary?

The Block Rosary is more than the recitation of the Rosary in private. It is comprised of a group of families, living in the same district.

They agree to come and pray round the statue of the Blessed Virgin in the house of one of them. In this way, “family prayer” becomes “neighbourhood prayer”.

This is being done because Catholics know that there is more to life than just a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are members of the Body of Christ and that to fully have a relationship with God, we must have a relationship with each other.
