Lectors Ministry

“The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue,
that I may know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them.”
Isaiah 50:4

Answering the call to become a Lector enters one into a deeper relationship with God as He is revealed in Sacred Scripture. To be a Lector is a commitment to service.
Lectors at mass, proclaim the Word of the Lord with reverence and dignity, in a voice with clarity and conviction. This enables the congregation to hear and understand God’s word spoken to God’s people.
All of our lectors will have to go through some training before we can be rostered for duty.
One of the main guidelines for us, is that every lector must be available for all Masses in our church on the weekends. Also, we attend quarterly meetings and weekly BOW for those on duty for that
Those who take on the responsibility of Lector are presumed to be of good faith, eager to serve their fellow Catholics, and willing to engage in the
formation process to improve the effectiveness of their service.
If you have a passion for proclaiming the Word of God and feel called to inspire others through Scripture, we invite you to join the Lectors Ministry Let your voice bring the Bible to life for our parish community!
